Web design & development in Plymouth.

// agency-grade work without the agency markup

Plymouth is the biggest city in the region, and its businesses shop for websites in a market that runs from £300 template jobs to five-figure agency retainers, with surprisingly little in between. That gap is where I sit: one experienced developer, twenty minutes up the A38, doing the kind of work agencies present in pitch decks — I rebuilt the platform behind a youth-media brand with a 95-million monthly reach this year — at freelance rates, with no account manager between you and the person building the site.

The city's mix skews technical: marine and defence engineering, manufacturing, the university ecosystem, a growing digital sector. Briefs here are more likely to need the harder things — integrations, member areas, booking systems, custom tools — and that custom development is a core service, not a subcontract.

For the volume end — trades, restaurants, professional services competing across a city of a quarter of a million — the maths is simpler: a fast static site from £800, hosting at £25/month, and a page properly targeting each service and each part of the city you serve.
