Totnes runs on independents. The high street from the Eastgate down to the river is one of the few in Devon not colonised by chains, and the town supports an unusual density of therapists, food producers, makers, galleries and small practices. For businesses like that, a website that visibly came from a template undercuts the whole point. If your shopfront is one of a kind, your site being the same Squarespace theme as everyone else's is a small ongoing act of self-sabotage.
