Web design & development in Torquay.

// the english riviera · your website is your front desk at 2am

Torquay's economy runs on visitors, and visitors book at strange hours from mediocre phone signal halfway up the M5. For a hotel, guesthouse, restaurant or attraction on the Riviera, the website is the front desk at 2am — and every second it takes to load is a percentage of bookings quietly walking off to a competitor or, worse, to an online travel agency taking 15–20% commission on guests who were already looking for you.

The static sites I build load in under a second on hotel-corridor Wi-Fi and hold their Core Web Vitals under summer traffic without any "performance plugin" theatre. Booking engines, availability calendars and menu updates wire in cleanly, and the seasonal reality of the trade is exactly what the £120/month hosting-plus-development tier exists for: two hours of changes included each month for the businesses that re-dress their site every season.

Photography carries tourism sites, so the build treats it properly — images served at the right size for every screen, sharp on the retina iPad in the guest lounge and light on the phone at a service station.
